Dr. Shaoqing Yu, PhD, is the Director of the Departments of Otorhinolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery and Allergy at Tongji Hospital, School of Medicine, Tongji University, Shanghai, China. An accomplished clinician-scientist, Dr. Yu specializes in allergy, immunology, and otorhinolaryngology, with a research focus on the mechanisms and clinical management of allergic rhinitis and upper airway inflammation. He has led or participated in more than 20 major research projects, including those funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and has published over 70 peer-reviewed papers in high-impact international journals such as JAMA, Allergy, Clinical and Experimental Allergy, and Clinical Reviews in Allergy & Immunology. His work has substantially advanced understanding of immune regulation and translational therapies in allergic diseases. Dr. Yu is an active member of the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (EAACI) and the Chinese Society of Otolaryngology in Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine, fostering global and interdisciplinary collaborations. His achievements have been recognized through numerous awards, including the Third Prize of the Shanghai Medical Technology Award, the Third Prize of the Military Medical Achievement Award, and the Tongji University Taihe Medical Education Award. With over 20 patents to his name and selection for the prestigious Shanghai Oriental Talent Plan, Dr. Yu continues to contribute significantly to medical innovation, education, and the improvement of public health outcomes in China and internationally.
