Mr. Nyiko Condry Ngobeni is a distinguished music lecturer, researcher, and performer with over eight years of academic and artistic contributions across South Africa and the United States. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Music at Rhodes University, South Africa (expected completion 2025), building on a Master’s in Music from the Longy School of Music of Bard College, USA (2017), a B.Tech. in Vocal Art (2014), and a National Diploma in Vocal Art (2013) from Tshwane University of Technology. Professionally, he has served as a music education lecturer at Walter Sisulu University since 2019, an external examiner at the University of Pretoria, and a moderator for postgraduate theses at Tshwane University of Technology, alongside earlier teaching and performance roles in both South Africa and the USA. His research interests focus on music education, indigenous knowledge systems, vocal pedagogy, and performance studies, areas in which he has made significant contributions through peer-reviewed publications in Scopus, Taylor & Francis, IntechOpen, and other international platforms. His research skills span grant proposal writing, student supervision, academic advisement, curriculum development, and manuscript reviewing, further demonstrated by his service on editorial boards and as a reviewer for multiple international journals. He has been recognized with numerous grants and fellowships, including awards from the Oppenheimer Memorial Trust, the National Arts Council of South Africa, ETDP SETA, and Rhodes University scholarships, which have supported his academic excellence and scholarly output. Beyond research, he has actively participated in international conferences, knowledge dissemination workshops, and artistic performances that bridge academia and practice. His contributions to teaching, supervision, publications, and community engagement underscore his role as a leader in music education and cultural scholarship. To date, his research output has achieved 65 citations, 4 indexed documents, and an h-index of 2.
