Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chaojie Yang, currently serving at the College of Fisheries and Life Science, Hainan Tropical Ocean University, is an accomplished researcher and academic specializing in fishery resources and aquatic biodiversity. He received his Doctor of Agriculture from Ocean University of China in 2017 and immediately joined Hainan Tropical Ocean University, where he has been actively engaged in both teaching and research. His academic journey reflects a strong commitment to advancing the field of fisheries science, as he has led a national project, a provincial project, and participated in three additional research programs that address the sustainable use and ecological restoration of aquatic ecosystems. Professionally, Dr. Yang teaches core courses in marine fisheries science and technology, while also mentoring students, with five scholars graduated and two currently under his supervision. His research interests span fishery resource assessment, aquatic biodiversity, ecological restoration, and genetic studies of aquatic organisms. Over the years, he has developed strong research skills in field investigations, biodiversity monitoring, ecological modeling, and molecular approaches, which have resulted in significant scientific outputs. He has published 16 research articles in SCI/SCIE and Scopus-indexed journals, authored two academic monographs, and filed 13 patents (8 domestic and 5 international), reflecting a blend of theoretical and applied contributions. His achievements in education and innovation are well recognized—he has been honored with six awards, including Outstanding Instructor in national innovation and entrepreneurship competitions and Outstanding Class Teacher (2022). Beyond research, he has contributed to academic development through excellent course construction and integration of ideological and political education. A dedicated member of multiple professional organizations, Dr. Yang continues to expand his global academic engagement and innovation capacity. With 48 citations, 14 indexed documents, and an h-index of 4, his research is steadily gaining international visibility, laying the foundation for future impactful contributions in fisheries science and aquatic biodiversity research.
