Prof. Dr. Ir. Didiek Hadjar Goenadi, MSc, PhD, IPU, APEC Eng, INV, is a distinguished Indonesian scientist and innovator with over four decades of contributions to agricultural biotechnology, estate crops, and sustainable plantation management. He earned his BS from IPB University in 1981 and completed both his MSc (1986) and PhD (1989) in Soil Science and Plant Nutrition at the University of Georgia, USA. His professional experience spans high-level leadership and advisory positions, including Expert Staff for the State Ministry of Research and Technology (2000–2003), Executive Director of the Indonesia Research Institute for Estate Crops (2002–2007), President Director of RPN Ltd (2011–2015), and Coordinator of the Research Committee at the Indonesia Oil Palm Fund Management Agency (2016–present). Currently, he also serves as an Expert Committee Member of the International Rubber Research and Development Board (2023–2025). Prof. Goenadi’s research interests focus on sustainable agriculture, oil palm and rubber innovations, biotechnological applications, and improving productivity and resilience of estate crops. His extensive research skills include developing and implementing biotechnology-driven solutions, managing large-scale research projects, fostering international collaborations, and translating research into patents and policy-driven innovations. He has authored 11 books, published hundreds of peer-reviewed scientific articles in reputed journals and conferences, and holds 11 granted patents, reflecting both academic and applied research excellence. His career is further distinguished by prestigious awards and honors, including recognition as one of the 110th Oil Palm Innovators (2022) and receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award (2023) from Oil Palm Magazine. In addition, he has demonstrated strong commitment to professional and community leadership as President of the Indonesia Inventor Association since 2008.
