Dr. Deepu Vijayan, an Indian national born on December 8, 1976, is a distinguished figure in botanical science and biotechnology. His scholastic journey includes a Ph.D. from Bharathiar University, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, an M.Sc. from St. Albert’s College, Cochin, Kerala, and a B.Sc. from University College, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala.
With over two decades of professional experience, Dr. Vijayan has held significant roles in various esteemed institutions. Currently serving as a Scientist – D at the Botanical Survey of India, Eastern Regional Centre, Shillong, he has previously held positions as Scientist – C and Scientist – B at the same institution. Prior to that, he served as a Scientist at the Centre for Medicinal Plants Research, Arya Vaidya Sala, Kottakkal, Kerala, and as a Lecturer in Biotechnology at the Department of Biotechnology, University of Kerala, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. His early career includes a tenure as a Junior/Senior Research Fellow at the UPASI Tea Research Institute, Valparai, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu.
